David 12 x 1st hand of 5 = Psalm 60

Psalms 60:1-12

To the chief Musician upon Shushan-eduth, Michtam of David, to teach; when he strove with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, when Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the valley of salt twelve thousand. O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.  (2)  Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.  (3)  Thou hast showed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.  (4)  Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.  (5)  That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.  (6)  God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.  (7)  Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;  (8)  Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me. (9)  Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?  (10)  Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies? (11)  Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.  (12)  Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

A Cry of Distress.

Psalms 120:1-7

A Song of degrees. In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me.  (2)  Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.  (3)  What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?  (4)  Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.  (5)  Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!  (6)  My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.  (7)  I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.

Dealing with Distress

Psalms 30:1-12

A Psalm and Song at the dedication of the house of David. I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.  (2)  O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.  (3)  O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.  (4)  Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.  (5)  For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.  (6)  And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.  (7)  LORD, by thy favor thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.  (8)  I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication.  (9)  What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?  (10)  Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.  (11)  Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;  (12)  To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee forever.

Psalm 144:1-15

A Psalm of David. Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: (2) My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me. (3) LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him! (4) Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away. (5) Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke. (6) Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them. (7) Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children; (8) Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood. (9) I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee. (10) It is he that giveth salvation unto kings: who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword. (11) Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood: (12) That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace: (13) That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets: (14) That our oxen may be strong to labor; that there be no breaking in, nor going out ; that there be no complaining in our streets. (15) Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.
